The Workshop scientific program will include lectures by invited speakers, with parallel oral and poster sessions covering the following fields:

• crystal structure and elementary excitations
• magnetism, non-crystal materials
• nanomaterials, pharmacology and biology
• science of materials and applied research
• experimental methods and techniques
• fundamental properties of neutron

In order to get financial support for the Workshop and in accordance with RFBR rules, the organizing committee must urgently submit to RFBR a demand including the scientific program (a detailed description of subjects of each session with speaker’s names and a list of talks).

For working out such a tentative program, the candidates are strongly invited to present their registration forms with titles and short annotations (up to 5-10 lines) of their talks before 15 May, 2008. The final version of the Program will include all corrections and additions of the participants.

Abstracts should be uploaded as Microsoft Word files on NSCMI-2008 Web Site not later than 1 June, 2008, or submitted by e-mail to Yury Chetverikov ( Yurii.Chetverikovpnpi.spb.ru). Please limit your abstract to 1 page (up to 3000 symbols including gaps, all margins – 20 mm, the font used is Times-New-Roman-12).

The Workshop proceedings are planned to be published in a special issue of the journal "Physics of the Solid State . The recommended size for each presentation is limited to 12000 symbols including gaps. The format is determined by the recommendations of the journal. Authors are invited to send their presentations before 13 October, 2008. It will be also possible to submit a presentation upon arrival.

The registration fee covers organization of the conference, conference material, a copy of the proceedings, the conference reception, the conference banquet and coffee breaks.

The organizing committee is going to provide partial financial support for young participants (up to 33 years old).

The participants of the Workshop will be accommodated in the hotels of Gatchina. Registration will start at the Akademicheskaya hotel on 12 October, 2008 at 10 am. It will be resumed in the PNPI Conference Hall (Bld.7) on 13 October, 2008 at 10 am.
